This is a rather amazing market in the historic, gritty, densely packed downtown end of the Centro district. We had a slow, slack-jawed wander through here on our way between visiting the Centro de la Imagen and drinking pulque at Las Duelistas. There is everything here.

If you catch the train to the 175th Street subway station in New York, and walk about 10 minutes to the George Washington Bridge, and then about 30 minutes over the bridge (beware it's very loud and windy!), you can walk straight onto the Long Path. The Long Path is 357 miles of walking trail between Fort Lee, New Jersey and Altamont, New York.
One late winter day when the weather was sunny (but still cold) Adam and I walked along the trail and covered a few miles along the top of the cliffs to Allison Park, enjoying the views of the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge.

The Museo Soumaya is a private museum on the northern side of the upmarket Polanco neighborhood. The building is mind blowing in person, (and very difficult to capture in a photograph because of its height and shape). The interior design is fascinating and the Museo Jumex is right next door, so it's a great way to spend an afternoon. Admission is free to many Mexico City museums on Sundays.

How cute is this double pastry? Adam and I split it in half and ate it with a really very good coffee. Highly recommend this charming (and popular) panaderia in the Roma Norte neighborhood.

I really liked walking around this neighborhood. There's a lot of hustle and bustle around the central plaza but the streets radiating away from the park are pretty, green and peaceful.

This food market is a perfect place for lunch after a visit to the Museo Frida Kahlo - I especially recommend Tostadas Coyoacan from the second-last photo here. Amazing fresh ingredients (in an incredible array of filling options) and excellent aguas frescas too.
